Airflow management
Ventilation
units and fans are used for cooling of instrumentation installed in a
rack. For medium and higher thermal loads we recommend air-conditioning
units from the Targeted Cooling portfolio.
The
active door is adapted for assembly of as many as 3 ventilation units
with 6 fans. The front active door ensures forced air supply to the
rack. On the other hand, the rear active door removes heated air from
the rack.
Air
flow passive control elements help to optimize cooling efficiency by
minimizing bypass airflow between the columns and the extrusions within
the rack. The products can aid air flow regulation and can be used to
create cold zones to enable the separation of hot and cold air. Their
application is a recommended for efficient cooling of equipment that
utilizes "front to rear" airflow such as the majority of servers and switches.
Blank and vented panels
These panels are mounted to 19" vertical extrusions. The
blank panels are used for blanking off the empty positions in a rack.
Through panels serve for cables routing from the front part of a rack to
the rear part.Contained Cold Aisle Accessories
With
Conteg Contained Aisle solution, the modular containment system is used
to physically separate cooled air from hot exhaust by forming a cold
plenum space and preventing mixing of hot and cold air, thereby
eliminating hot-spots.
