Side mount cooling units

Conteg Side Mount Cooling can be deployed in the cabinet row to deliver cooling directly to the cold-aisle. The units are connected to the central chilled water system, (or moto-condensers in the case of DX units) and control the temperature and humidity of the output air. For optimum efficiency combine side mount chillers with a contained cold aisle system to trap the cold air produced. Piping for the side mount units can be laid in advance and then the units added as the facility is built out thus saving initial infrastructure investment costs.

Architecture with an open air circuit
The Side Open Architecture system is ideally suited for use in hot/cold and contained cold aisle deployments and can be used to supplement the existing cooling system within a facility to add capacity on a zone by zone basis. Warm air is drawn directly from the hot aisle, cooled and humidified by the side mounted cooling units before being blown back into the cold aisle for use by equipment.

Architecture with a closed air circuit
Side mount cooling units with a closed circuit are ideal for cooling very high thermal loads without releasing warm air into the environment. Therefore, they can be used in both newly established data centres and exisiting facilities, where increased output of the equipment installed may result in cooling system capacity problems.

Cooling output up to 35kW means that the cooling unit is able to maintain optimum operating conditions within the rack even in case of high-performance blade server deployments
Available in two versions: Direct eXpansion with direct coolant evaporation, as well as Chilled Water version for connection to the central chilled water system
Electronic control panel allows flow control (microprocessor) which allows maintaining of the optimum cooling level that ensures adequate climate in the rack
Each of the DX units must be connected by coolant piping to an external condensing unit
Water-cooled units are connected to the central chilled water distribution system

Cooling units with open architecture are compatible with free-standing racks of the ROF, RHF, RDF, RMF, RSL, ROS and REV series. Compatibility of the side mount cooling units with closed architecture will be communicated upon request.

CONTEG Contained Aisle System

The Side Open Architecture system is ideally suited for use in hot/cold aisle deployments and can be used to supplement the existing cooling system within a facility to add capacity on a zone by zone basis. Warm air is drawn directly from the hot aisle, cooled and humidified by the side mounted cooling units before being blown back into the cold aisle for use by equipment. The range of available capacities mean that it is now easy to tailor zone cooling requirements in a hot/cold aisle deployment without over-cooling the entire facility. Furthermore, side cooling can be combined with the Conteg contained cold-aisle solution as shown below to further promote efficient use of chilled air leading to reduced facility operational costs.
