Space optimisation sections

CONTEG's Space Optimization Sections are designed to give additional layout flexibility options for the data center. The 300mm wide sections can be added to expand the cabinets either at the side, or front to back to allow additional mounting space for equipment and cabling. By only consuming half of a standard rack foot print, the floor space within the data center can be optimised for the accommodation of IT equipment whilst still providing adequate space for power and network cabling distribution. The design consists of the below section types:

• Middle section 
• Rear section 
• Front/rear section

Middle section

The middle section is located between two adjacent racks. It is suitable for running cabling, interconnecting cables and power supply of the system. Administration of cabling and power is simplified as both can be located in the middle section. The middle section is compatible with the ROF racks as well as with all the other CONTEG systems for vertical organization of cabling.

• Front and rear panel with a lock
• The section is not equipped with side panels
• Cable inlets in the top and bottom cover 
• Vertical panel with s 9x19" positions for placing of interconnecting patchcords and of the power supply system.

End section

The End section is located at the end of a row of racks. Use of this section can be  very efficient in hot and cold corridor design because it allows concentration of the cabling management, power supply and interconnection to the end of the racks row where the above systems can be accessed most easily.

• Front and rear panel with a lock
• The section is not equipped with side panels
• Cable inlets in the top and bottom cover 
• Compatible with 19" vertical extrusions and /or vertical systems of the cabling organization

Front/rear section
Front and rear sections can be added to the rack to increase the overall depth by up to 600mm (300mm at the front, 300mm at the back). This can be useful where equipment that requires a deeper rack than originally planned needs to be accommodated. The sections can also be used to mount power strips or patch field positions meaning that the management of high numbers of cable and power connections is possible without sacrificing the internal space of the cabinet. Front and rear sections can be retrofitted to existing cabinets if necessary, meaning that your facility can be upgraded as required without the need for replacing cabinets.
