Air Separation Frame
Airflow passive control elements help to optimize cooling efficiency by minimizing bypass airflow. Between the columns and the extrusions within the rack.
The Air Separation frame is used for minimizing by‑pass airflow between racks' hot and cold zones. Using an Air Separation frame in a Room Feed with Plenum Return deployment forms a “cool zone” inside the rack between the front door and the equipment mounted on the 19” profiles. Cool zone depth is recommended to be 150 mm. This depth is defined as the distance between the front of the extrusion and the front of the rack. Solutions with different depths are available ‑ 50, 100, and 200mm. Solution for 50 mm depth is universal and uses rubber material for sealing.
A modified version of the Air Separation frame allows a simple installation of the frame inside the rack and consequentially joins two racks together. This version of the separation frame is compatible with the new QUICK Connecting Kit ‑DP‑DR‑UNI‑Q. When both products are used together is it possible to use pre‑installed Air Separation frames directly from the producer or system integrator. Bolting of racks together on the site is a tool‑less operation that can be carried out by one installer only.
To ensure proper functionality of the Air Separation frame in the ROF or RDF racks width 800 mm the HVMP/HVMF holders or extrusions type C or P (with blank panels) must be used.
